Wildlife Safety Tips

Earlier in February, a Gloucester resident’s dog was killed by a coyote in their own backyard. And because of this unfortunate event, Gloucester Police Department offers some safety tips that will help prevent tragedies like this in the future.

  • Do not attempt feed these wild animals.
  • Do not leave your pets outside your home unattended and make sure to secure them when walking outdoors.
  • Remove any bird feeders.
  • Do not touch or provoke an encounter when you see a wild animal.
  • Close off all crawl spaces in your property.
