Hyenas are often misconstrued animals. Contrary to what most people think, hyenas aren’t wild dogs. More like cats, these animals belong to the suborder Feliformia, a classification for cat-like carnivores. They are usually found in Southern Africa and along Angola-Namibia border.
Also known as social creatures, hyenas live in clans which can have up to 80 members. The smallest kind of hyena, Aardwolves, only eat termites and consume them by licking them off surfaces with a flat, sticky tongue.
