Foxes Can Be More Valuable When Alive

According to a new report, foxes may actually be worth £886 to Scotland’s farmers if alive than dead. By reducing destructive pests such as rabbits, each fox can provide tons of benefits.

 

However, the findings of the study contradict the arguments that foxes must be hunted and killed in order to protect livelihoods.

 

Professor Stephen Harris from the University of Bristol said that reducing the lambs instead of hunting the foxes can provide a much greater benefit to agriculture.
