Managing Wildlife as Pythons in Florida Wreak Havoc

Dramatic Lighting Boa Constrictor As part of the long-term solution in managing invasive wildlife, Florida will be hosting the 2016 Python Challenge from January 16 through February 14. The goal, according to public relations specialist Lisa Thompson, is to engage the public in participating in Evergldades conservation through invasive species removal.

Since 2000, more than 2,000 Burmese pythons have been removed from the Everglades national Park. They wreak ecological havoc in South Floridaā€™s subtropical environment by killing and eating anything that lives in the area.
