If you own a business – especially in an area that is surrounded by natural debris such as trees, bodies of water, and other plants – you may eventually come to observe signs that an animal is lurking around your establishment.
The first step to controlling that animal or those animals is to learn how to tell if a nuisance creature is visiting the area around your business. Even in the smallest towns, there is some degree of growth.
Each year, we are moving more and more into natural territories that animals use to survive. As a result, we are seeing more animals around businesses, restaurants, shopping centers, and other venues.
Sign #1: The Presence of Fecal Manner
Unlike humans, when animals feel the need to relieve themselves, they do it wherever they are located, at the time. As a result, it is common to observe fecal manner where animals have been. The fecal manner may be brown and watery, yellow, clay-colored, black, and/or solid.
Additionally, it may be in piles, pellets, and long pieces. It can range from as small as a bean to even larger – depending on the animal that leaves the fecal manner behind. If you notice this, it is time to consider calling a wildlife removal service to investigate the issue.
Sign #2: Garbage Intrusions
If you own or operate a business, it is quite likely that you have some area outside the building where you place your garbage. In most instances, this area will have a dumpster. However, in other cases, it may just be a fenced in area that has several garbage cans.
Whatever the case may be, you should observe this area. Has it experienced an intrusion? Is there trash scattered? Do bags look as if they have been clawed at or ripped? If so, it is likely that you have a nuisance animal on your hands.
Sign #3: Structure Damage
There are many types of animals that will invade certain areas of a structure. Examples include window sills, gutters, the roof, vents, and similar areas. They do this for the purpose and intent of nesting, protecting themselves from predators, and also providing additional protection from the outdoor elements, such as heat, cold, snow, and rain.
Do you see any building damage? Does it look as if an animal has been attempting to nest at some area within the structure that may be accessed from the outdoors? If so, you likely have a nuisance animal lurking around your business.
Wildlife Removal
If you notice any signs that an animal has been around your business, it is time to call a wildlife removal expert to investigate. Failure to do so could result in damage to the structure, damage to the reputation of your business, and even danger to the people that work at and visit your business. It is not worth the risk.
